I am a qualified teacher (with QTS), and have been working as a private tutor since 2014. During this time, I have worked with students of all ages, tutoring in French, Spanish, Classical Civilisation, Maths, and English.

I am a qualified teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish). In the classroom, I have taught French up to KS5, Spanish to KS4, Classical Civilisation to KS5, and Latin to KS3.

My previous roles include:
- Teacher in a local secondary school
- Tutor for one of the top nationwide tuition centres (teaching maths and English)
- Mentor of a young person on the autism spectrum
- AQA GCSE French Oral examiner
- Language assistant for the British Council in France, teaching English as a foreign language
- Language assistant in a local primary school, teaching French

For each of my roles, I received thorough training and detailed feedback, benefitting my personal development. It is important to me that I can support pupils from all backgrounds and with diverse needs, so I have sought and received relevant training in these areas.

Tutoring Approach
My teaching approach is entirely pupil-centred. I enjoy getting to know the individual pupil and take this process seriously, tailoring my lessons and resources to meet their specific needs and highlight their strengths.

I offer a 50% discount on the first lesson, and I spend some of this time discussing the subject, getting to know the pupil, and identifying how best I can support them in the following sessions.

I take advance bookings – in blocks of either 4 lessons or half-terms.

Mary tutored me from the age of 11-16, seeing me through 2 key examination periods (SATs and GCSE’s) and I honestly gained so much from her teaching. She tailored each an every lesson to me. Not just sticking to a standard lesson plan like in school. She allowed me to be honest and say what I needed help with and she would create a lesson specifically for that struggle. She came to every lesson with a positive attitude and helped me to emulate this in my study. She allowed me to grow in confidence and intellectual skill and I saw real improvement in my grades and marks due to her support giving me the motivation I needed to achieve highly.
