I have been a Maths teacher for over 10 years. I prepare courses and classroom materials, assignments task and grade them. This isn't intended to fail anybody but to know the student's level of understanding. My teaching methods are flexible as I would want every student to be in their right frame of mind before teaching. I try to make sure students aren't distracted while teaching so they could grasp what is being taught afterwards I proceed with home task. I try to encourage my students to keep practicing whatever have been taught and even more Maths problems they encounter, this will make whatever is being taught to stick. Practice they say makes improvements.
Without practice, there is a high tendency of forgetting what has been taught no matter how simple they could be. I use basic English language to teach my students so they understand easily.
From my experience in teaching, I have come to understand that no two students are the same. This means with patience and dedication, I try to treat each student differently so theu understand each topic that is being treated. From experience I also understand that I won't just move to a next topic if the basics or nitty-gritty haven't been dealt with. I also create a friendly environment while teaching. I am not stereotyped in the sense that if i sense backwardness in class or difficulties in grabing the previous topic, I will rather go back to the basics than what I intend to teach for that day.
