Are you struggling with English Language and Literature? Look no further! My name is Martine and I am an experienced and passionate Academic Tutor. I take great pride in watching my students blossom and grow in confidence, finally attaining fantastic grades in their exams.
I hold a PhD in English Literature and Philosophy, attained at London University: a qualification which has equipped me with a variety of skills and knowledge that I thoroughly enjoying sharing and imparting to others. I also have certification in counselling, so I combine the skills gained from my career path, to create a unique and effective teaching methodology which has helped so many students with whom I have had, and continue to have, the pleasure to work with.
With over 10 years experience, ranging from infant and primary tuition, right through to university teaching, I have had the fulfilling opportunity to watch students grow. Many of my GCSE students have flourished abundantly, from having initially received a grade 3/4 in their mocks to then going on to attain 7/8/9s in their final exams. Every single student I work with never goes away empty-handed, but leaves each session with a smile and a new-found confidence and love for the subject, just like I have!
The pandemic affected all of us, but it has naturally left many students with gaps in their knowledge. My passion is to close that gap and help my clients achieve what they deserve.
I work with students who have a variety of challenges, including dyslexia. I strongly believe in adaptability and the philosophy that “one shoe size will never fit all”. Recent feedback has consisted of schools noticing a “marked improvement” among the students I am currently tutoring.
Sessions always involve a friendly chat and a dash of humour, which seems to create a fantastic learning environment!
Let me ignite your love for English Language and Literature and help you achieve your academic goals and enriched self-esteem!
