Martin Wafula is an Engineering Science DPhil/PhD candidate at the University of Oxford's Oriel College, currently affiliated with the Information and Network Science (INS) Lab. His research centres around graph lossy compression and its application in wireless sensor networks. He earned a first-class honours Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication and Information Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Martin has significant professional experience as an IT Risk Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Ltd. Before embarking on his doctoral journey; Martin worked as a telecommunications engineer for Elris Communications Ltd, Safaricom PLC, and the Communication Authority of Kenya. He has taught various courses, ranging from engineering subjects at the University of Oxford, "Introduction to Communication Engineering" at the Oxford summer school, to "Data Communications" and "Network Theory" at the Multimedia University of Kenya and demonstrated Semiconductors and Communications Labs for Engineering Science students at Oxford University. Martin is an Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) member and has earned multiple professional certifications, including one in 5G Technology and Applications in Practice from the International Telecommunication Union.
