Martin in a nutshell

I take a student-centred approach that focuses on the hobbies, interests, aims and dreams of the student. By allowing the student to express themselves in respect of subjects they are most passionate about, students can speak confidently and freely.

I am a firm believer that it is very important to make mistakes in order to learn. Therefore, I encourage all my students to speak from the heart, to not worry about making mistakes, and that they can harness their confidence to take the practical skills they learn in the classroom into everyday life.

My experience of teaching English across 3 continents and also online has assisted many students of all levels to achieve their dreams, whether it is to pass IELTS proficiency examinations for university, to obtain prestigious scholarships such as the Chevening scholarship, or to secure internships at top companies such as Ebay.

Wherever possible, I take an informal approach to learning, so that students can feel comfortable learning online in an environment that is very different to the ordinary classroom.

I have experience teaching both in private classes, in formal classroom environments and online in Australia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Mongolia, Russia, Thailand, Viet Nam and United Kingdom.

I have taught English in many pagodas/temples on a voluntary basis, helping students to prepare for examinations. I have also taught Syrian refugee families on a voluntary basis in order to assist them with their assimilation to a new environment and lifestyle.

Learning and teaching are equally fun and I am always looking to learn and exchange with my students as much as I hope to teach them.
