I enjoy one to one online tuition. I can, if desired, help a group of students.

I initially assess the level of English skills that the student has already. This a gentle process. From there I tailor the tuition to ensure that the student learns a command of fundamental grammar, parts of speech, vocabulary and sentence structure. I find it best to start with conversational English but I can then move on to written English with its issues of punctuation and compiling coherent paragraphs should the student desire it. I strongly recommend that but I will take full account of what the student wants.

I am very aware that we use language in every part of life. Consequently I would encourage students to explore English in the context of practicalities such as travelling, social interaction and business. As an optional extra I have a full command of the use of English in the world of the law.

One thing that I find that I have found helpful is for more advanced students to understand the nuances of English which play such a significant part in our social interactions. Once the basics described above are mastered, I am very happy to explore the richness of what are called figures of speech such as irony, litotes, metaphor etc but that would come only after we build a solid foundation of grammar and vocabulary.

Here in the UK a good command of English helps all of us to enjoy a fulfilling flourishing life. It will give me great joy to help you on your way to achieve a good fulfilling life.
