I am a driven, capable and adaptable Consultant possessing over 5 years of industry experience at the
construction design consultancies Symetri and Turner & Townsend. Prior to this I gained over 4 years of
invaluable practical and leadership experience on-site alongside studying Architectural Technology
(BSc) at Northumbria University where I gained a First-Class Honours.

Most recently in my BIM experience, I worked as Head of Consulting (BIM) at Symetri. In this role I was responsible for the team resource organisation, project acquisition, representing Symetri’s BIM division at external events and initiating schemes to train and improve the collective skillset of the business. Among other responsibilities I also continued to conduct Information Manager work on projects in a ‘hybrid’ position.

Prior to this I managed BIM project processes, enabling digital collaboration, ensuring model assurance and data compliance, and developing comprehensive documentation. Upskilled design teams, coordinated efforts among many subcontractors, and oversaw smooth handovers. Led high-level model reviews, developed BIM standards, and chaired workshops to resolve coordination issues, ensuring successful project alignment and deliverables.

In my teaching, I like to adapt my lessons depending on the requirements of the student, and how they learn best. I have found that an application of theory and real world practical application goes a long way to helping to cement understanding. I am more than happy to talk through presentations, pull the theory into the software or documentation that they are applicable to, and explore different ways of explaining through the processes. BIM is well known in the industry as being difficult to understand, tedious and boring! With a bit of personality, my aim is to counter this!
