After 15 years in a classroom, I know how to plan a lesson to suit your individual needs.
We can tailor the lessons to areas which you want to see improvement or we can work on bitesize chunks of everything.
Conversation skills are key - gaining the confidence to communicate with others will open doors as you build your vocabulary. Starting and ending a lesson with short chats will help us to understand areas which we need to address, incorporating listening and pronunciation.
Grammar is important - but in small bursts. You only learn if you are happy and enjoying yourself so quick grammar points will be built into each lesson.
Reading helps you to strengthen your vocabulary and there are ways to attack a text in order to gain basic understanding without the need to translate every word. We can work on inference to ensure that you can access a wider variety of media.
Writing is an essential learning skill. Together we can write creatively or work on business skills, such as letter-writing or writing a report on a topic that you are interested in.
We can work together on a plan for how you want/need to progress, alongside a realistic timeframe where we can set targets and review attainment.
Regular weekly lessons with homework will see improvement over time. If you need to move on more quickly, we can look at more regular lessons and work through topics together.
