Within my practice and teaching experience, I have varied skills that I contribute to my online teaching curriculum. I am confident with oil paints, inks, watercolours and acrylics. Ceramic sculpture and print making are also part of my practice. I love sharing practical knowledge as a teacher alongside teaching about historical and contemporary artists. Referencing other art is a crucial part of my teaching with diversity at its core to ensure inclusivity.

I am happy to either creative a curriculum that is fuelled by your specific interests or happy to create my own plan if you are more vague and just want to learn.

For example, if you wanted to learn how to oil paint:
1) I would start by teaching you the basics of colour theory and paint application.
2) I would then lead you through an activity that put that knowledge into practice.
3) As the curriculum would develop, I would introduce different artists and explore different techniques in painting oils so you had a broader knowledge on the material.
4) You would really lean into taking ownership of your imagery and would practice the art/style that interested you most.

Or you may have something much more specific, like I want to be able to paint this particular image and I would support you in making that a reality.

I have 6 years of experience teaching children and adults in schools, adult education centres, private tuition and classes I run in my studio. I am confident I can help you improve in whatever medium you like and would be committed to that growth.
