I am able to provide tutoring for GCSE, Nat-5, Higher and Advanced Higher English and am comfortable with the Scottish system.

My lessons are adaptable and I am able to provide reasonable accommodations to any of my students who require them. I focus on each student as an individual and look to build on their strengths and weaknesses as an individual. I believe the most effective learning approach is practice and am happy to provide exercises for my students either in or outside of specific curriculums. Upon meeting a student I look to gain an understanding of what it is that that specific student is hoping to achieve. We will set specific goals and determine what your motivation is to study English in order to achieve those goals. I can provide feedback and critique on creative, and non-fiction pieces of writing, as well as proofreading essays. I am also happy to help my students navigate texts ranging from simple to complex and the analysis of the respective texts.

The reason I am studying English is because of the teachers I have had throughout my life, the ones who have had a genuine, unwavering passion for literature and English as a language. Ultimately my lessons aim to engage my students with whatever it is that they are studying, both to help them learn and to help them enjoy English - because it's really cool!
