In my Arts education, I have completed both my BA in Fine Art as well as my PGCE in teaching Art, Craft and Design.
In my personal practice as an artist I have explored many different ways of working including; video and film, installations, text and audio work. In my most recent practice I continue to explore drawing and print as well as collage in much smaller scale works.
Artistic themes in which I have a personal special interest are; nature and environment and finding the extraordinary in the ordinary! I am currently developing and exploring new processes of art making with found and foraged materials to further investigate the natural/everyday world we live in.
I have taught across all age groups from early years to adult artists and can tailor sessions to the individual. From portraiture to landscapes to performance pieces; I have worked with students successfully to build confidence and skills.
While tutoring, I have worked with many different abilities from new starters to those applying for art school. I am flexible in my approach and can differentiate to the appropriate audience.
I have extensive experience working with and teaching those with additional needs and work with the student and their parents/support, in a caring and compassionate way to support them in their own personal learning journey.
I am available for online tutoring and local in person tutoring sessions. I am happy to chat about what works best for each student and can schedule a mixture of both sessions types.
