I have taught for 12 years and in every single one of those years my classes have had a positive outcome in terms of grades achieved vs their predicted ones. For 11 of those years I have been a Head of Department.

My cohorts routinely achieve ALPS 2/3 which puts them in the top 25% nationwide for progress made. I excel at helping students who have particular grades they are aiming for and helping them to achieve it, no matter the grade.

I specialise in Edexcel US Politics, UK Politics and have experience with each of the optional ideologies. I have examined for Edexcel for a number of years. I have experienced a number of specification changes and am fully up to date with the current spec, resources I use and provide are ones that I use with my current students and are proven to achieve results.

My tutoring style is very flexible and I like to tailor it to the student I am working with. I enjoy knowing my students as people and work with them to ensure that we are progressing in areas they need reinforcement. As such, I work on areas students stay they need help in from their studies at school, as well as identifying areas myself through our work.

I view tutoring as a two-way street, and the relationship between teacher/student is vital to ensure that we can have honest conversations about areas for growth, which are then used to plan future lessons. Questions are strongly encouraged, they are especially important for politics in order to fully be able to evaluate areas to achieve the best marks in answers.
