Ciao Io mi chiamo Marilú, and I'm your Italian Tutor!

I am a native Italian speaker with over ten years of experience teaching students of all levels. My passion for languages led me to study linguistics and earn a Master’s in Translation because I love exploring the differences between languages and cultures. Understanding linguistic and cultural barriers fascinates me, and I enjoy finding creative ways to make communication smoother and more effective.

While I often use textbooks like Arrivederci Edilingua and Espresso, I am flexible, and we can decide together on the best materials for you. I also provide bespoke resources based on your preferences and needs. For those interested, I run a reading club with a few students, where we explore Italian literature and culture together.

I adapt my teaching methods to your learning style, ensuring an engaging and effective process. Whether you are learning for travel, preparing for exams such as GCSE, improving work-related communication, or aiming for B1 citizenship, you will receive personalised guidance. I also help professionals working in Italian-speaking environments by correcting materials and improving pronunciation for presentations and meetings.

All of my students who have taken exams have passed successfully. Those who needed Italian for their passport have obtained it. Many students learning for fun now travel to Italy and communicate with confidence. Some even travel alone, ordering in restaurants, booking hotels, and navigating public transport independently.

Beyond language, I enjoy discussing Italian culture, food, and traditions, and I assist students in planning their travels to Italy. With over seven years of experience, I work with students of all levels, helping them gain fluency, cultural insight, and confidence in Italian.
