My lessons will focus on technique and skill, but more importantly on how to make the music become a “story”, rather than just notes on a page. I have worked with students from a range of ages, and have developed the patience required to be able to teach such a sophisticated instrument. I always provide students with class notes so that they know what they worked on that day as well as what needs to more improvement. As a medical student, I can strongly say that I am very compassionate, understanding, and always have a smile on my face. Each lesson is an hour long and will also focus on the performance aspect of playing the violin, as I firmly believe that music has the ability to move an audience and engage with them. I have been performing as a classical violinist for 18 years, as well as won multiple international prizes; therefore, I have gained the skills and knowledge surrounding playing the violin as an art that I am very keen on passing to others. I have also trained a student to pass a grade 3 ABRSM exam, so if a student is looking to tackle a music exam, I am prepared for that as well. Overall, I believe that I have the necessary values, skills, and personality to teach a student on both the technicalities of the violin, as well as the performing aspect of it in order to tell a successful and passionate “story” to an audience.
