I would prefer communicative approach and exercises for teaching grammar. The format of a lesson is variable, all depends of student's level and goals. I like to discuss films, urgent topics- all depends what are student's needs.
Also listening is one of the most stumbling tasks for foreighner. I suggest that files will differ for adults and children.
It is essential to delevop this skill using tasks from different resourses TV shows, mock IELTS or Cambridge exams.
Writing. The aim to be able to write down your thoughts without mistakes, using correct pattern, grammar and spelling.
Reading is present throughout all teaching process. But as for foreigners i suggest to use exercises from mock exams.
