Marie Schmit

My name is Marie Schmit, I've just moved to London this year for my Business studies and previously lived in Luxembourg, where I completed my highschool majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Having been passionate about maths from a young age, I have been tutoring younger students and students of the same age who are struggling with maths since I was 12. I’m also a mentor at my current university where I’m helping a group of other student improve their math level. I do my best to not only help them understand maths better, but also to pass on the fun and joy I have for the subject. My lessons will often have a similar structure but I will always adapt to the student and find out which methods help them to develop quickly.
I will first explain everything that is not yet understood, then we will do some examples together and then the students will try to solve tasks on their own and I will look over them and only intervene if the student does not get any further. At the end, I will go over the last uncertainties again so that everything is understood at the end and hopefully they have realised that even maths can actually be a lot of fun.
I‘m looking forward to helping primary and secondary school pupils to improve their math skills and at the same time sharing my passion.
