While being a classroom teacher after my PGCE in Modern languages, I developed a sound interest for pupils with learning difficulties, especially Dyslexia, ADHD. I carried on teaching French while preparing for my MA in Psychology of Education. My further studies enabled me to with as an SENCO in diverse schools but I missed teaching and decided to engage in more one to one or small group teaching by becoming a specialised teacher.
Each I individual is unique and has different abilities. I usually spend the first lesson discussing and understanding my student’ strengths and difficulties and it is important to understand their favourite approach to learning. Teaching is an exchange and it is important to engage the students by establishing a programme of study together. I am very familiar with the English GCSE Edexcel, AQA and OCR and I always enjoy preparing my student for their exams. I have built up and gathered a lot of resources and techniques for my students in all skills needed to pass their English GCSE exams. My lessons are always tailored on the student’s needs and I always monitor the progress. My approach is very flexible and multi-sensory. I teach many techniques that every type of students can experiment and use to become independent learner and to be well equipped for their exams.
I also have a sound interest in teaching French at all levels.
