I am a science teacher with over 7 years of experience, principally at Harlington School in Hayes, West London. Harlington is a challenging, mixed, multi-cultural comprehensive school with high levels of EAL learners. In my time at the school I undertook a range of different roles. I have experience as a form tutor for each of Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and have taught across all year groups. In the autumn of 2023 one of my lessons was highlighted for praise following an inspection by Ofsted. In 2019 I assumed responsibility as the Head of Physics which involved coordinating schemes of work and assessment opportunities across the team of around 10 science teachers. I was also responsible for STEM activities which included organizing a range of events and trips with a STEM focus. I have a passion for environmental issues and became involved with the Young Green Briton organization in 2022. I worked closely with YGB ambassadors to support students in developing their projects and accompanied our winning Harlington group to the Houses of Parliament in the summer of 2023. I found our engagement with YGB to be a thoroughly interesting and rewarding experience. In the autumn of 2023 I instigated the follow-up project for the next year group which involved an exciting range of sustainability ideas.
