As an English native who understands the struggle of learning a second language, I have over two years experience of teaching foreign languages to children as a private tutor and, from this experience, I have found that what works best is taking an informal approach to learning. Generally, I offer fun, light-hearted and interactive lessons that focus on having genuine conversations, thus making each hour feel like a well-needed break from the school day. In my online lessons, I often begin with an informal discussion in English to put you at ease and then I will ask simple questions (depending on your level of French) about your day, your weekend etc. I then tend to move onto playing games or creating pieces of art (nothing overly-complicated and will only ever require paper and pens, unless you have access to a wider range of materials) in French. Of course, if you would prefer a more formal approach or if you need help with specific elements of homework, I can equally offer this as I have studied the French language up to a master's level and have covered a wide array of grammar concepts.
