I focus on finding a way to express confidence, approachability and warmth in English as the target language. This often means focusing on word choice and developing a specific vocabulary group, as well as strengthening syntax and tone.
Because I am a creative practitioner, my lessons are engaging, dynamic, full of spontaneity and always bespoke based on the student's personal development goals and priorities. Humour and fun-filled material take centre stage in lessons that encourage an active dialogue where students can retain new words and phrases due to topics that are interesting to them. This includes the use of metaphors in English and idiomatic phrases that are present in the majority of the language, in contrast to the students' own mother tongue.
I prioritise the progress of wielding English effectively, with maximum impact on how students want to express themselves, whether it be written, academic and professional English, or conversational and casual.
A typical lesson with me is an exploration of how to listen to English, how to react and be approachable to it, and how to expand vocabulary in a realistic and practical way when responding. We will use real life situations where new vocabulary words are retained better due to students' interest in the topics. Media platforms like the news and clips online will also be discussed and analysed, depending on students' interests and passions.
Whatever your priorities are, I can tailor fit our lessons to address how you want to improve and make progress in English, and you can decide how formal or informal your range of vocabulary needs to be as you progress.
