I have an MEng (master's degree) in mechanical engineering and am currently a 3rd year PhD student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southampton. I have experience tutoring both maths and the sciences on and off for several years. I've always loved maths as a subject and aim to instil that same joy in students. As everyone learns differently, the first lesson will be used to understand what the student wants from the lessons and their learning style so that all further lessons can maximise their learning.
The lessons will be online and tailored for the individual student but will most likely follow the following format: 1 lesson to determine what level the student is currently at, a few lessons to cement any basic understanding required for further topics, followed by a set of lessons on each topic that the student wishes to cover (similar layout to GCSE and A-level modules). If the student is studying for a specific exam, we will also go through past papers to help target further revision.
The lesson format and teaching style will be regularly evaluated and adapted if required as everyone learns in their own way and this is reflected in how I approach teaching.
