TLDR; I’m a specialist print technician by trade and an expert in my field, but also have 18+yrs teaching/workshop experience. I research using scrap materials for making artwork, so am perfect for those with no budget or no facilities who want to boss the curriculum, try something new, or just wanna make stuff good.
My bio:
I am a full-time artist, printmaker, technician, and founder of the Bristol Print Museum.
I have over 18 years teaching and workshop experience in Bristol and London - and have been employed in education, research, fine art, industry, and across arts charities.
In my own practice, I do not specialise in a specific print method - so work across everything from Lino to etching, letterpress, to screen printing and everything in between. Instead, I specialise in alternate materials, using my own print studio and facilities to research using household and garden waste to produce professional, archival artworks.
This has allowed me to work with schools and organisations to develop print facilities and fun and engaging projects that exceed curriculum requirements with low materials costs.
All my lessons or workshops are developed to be easily done in any space, with no budget, and reducing waste.
I am neurodivergent, which is extremely beneficial to teaching arts subjects. I am able to explain things in multiple different ways to suit all types of learners and usually explain using multiple sensory descriptions (e.g. This should feel/look/sound like this) for maximum compression and retention.
These profile requirements are way too long… I’m great, pick me.
