I have always enjoyed learning and teaching others what I have learned. Here is an outline of what I have been learning about:
In secondary school, I studied history, sociology, Spanish, art, English, maths, double science, and Greek. At college, I earned a level 3 diploma in Art and Design. At university, I completed a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree. I have been a teacher for 2 years now whilst also working at a half-term camp as a coach. I teach history, English, religious studies, and art. I am currently working towards achieving a master's degree in art therapy.
Through my work, I have been surrounded by children and teenagers ranging from ages 4 to 16. I have also had the pleasure of tutoring adults who are navigating through university by helping them with things like essay formatting and structure.
In my lessons, I feel it is important to work closely with the students (and the parents depending on the students' age) and communicate thoroughly about the strengths and weaknesses the student feels they have in the subject. This may begin by looking through some of the students' already completed work or providing them with a quick test to understand the students' basic knowledge in the subject area. Following this, I feel the students learn best when a fun and safe learning environment is made. I will always cover topics multiple times if necessary to ensure that all knowledge learned is kept and provide the student with a sense of confidence when they may have to retell their new knowledge at school. The exact format of my lessons may differ depending on the students' age however the outcome will always be the same.
