My name is María and I'm a professional Spanish teacher based in Nottingham.

I'm a Qualified Teacher in Early Childhood Education but when I moved to the UK, nine years ago, I realised that my true passion is teaching adults. I've completed my CELTA course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) which helped me to reinforce my skills, and for the past six years I've been teaching Spanish in language academies as well as The University of Sheffield and Nottingham Trent University.

I am a hardworking person and I love helping students to achieve their goals. I'm always available and willing to meet their needs.

When I plan my lessons I like to include games as well as authentic materials, this makes the learning process more engaging, imaginative and keeps students motivated. This approach helps me to elicit genuine responses from learners as they see themselves in situations they may face in a Spanish-speaking environment.
