Students have stated that my teaching has been an inspiration for them and reported I make them passionate about learning Spanish by keeping the lessons the perfect balance of fun and informative. I have over 27 years of experience teaching Spanish and English in Mexico and the UK. I spend time to understand my students' needs and tailor my teaching to best accommodate their personal context. I like to keep a pragmatic approach to learning, yes structure and grammar are important, but being able to understand a different culture and to use the language to communicate and reach out to others is the force that encourages my students. What does this mean? Lots of communicative activities, cultural awareness, strategies for independent work, a good time, and clear and tangible progress.
