Maria was an excellent teacher. She quickly identified issues with my pronunciation where people struggled to understand my accent. She focused on word stress - how many syllables a word has, where the stress falls and how changing the stress patterns affects pronunciation. Gaining this understanding has greatly improved my pronunciation.
