Margarita Ilyasova

Spanish has been at the centre of my personal and professional life for almost 15 years, and while I've never worked as a language teacher, I'd love to share my knowledge and experience with other language learners. I started studying Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes in Moscow, passing DELE C2 less than 3 years after my first Spanish class. Following that, I spent five years living and studying in Spain, eventually graduating from the University of Granada with the highest GPA in my class. I specialised in English<>Spanish translation and interpreting, so if you're also interested in taking this career path for yourself, I'm sure my experience could be of great help. I've also recently graduated with a Master's degree in Interpreting and Translating from the University of Bath, with distinction.
When it comes to language learning, I believe in the traditional approach, with a strong emphasis on grammar, reading and listening skills. While I'm fluent in Spanish, it's still not my mother tongue and I believe speaking skills should be better practised with a native speaker; however, if what you want is to gain an in-depth understanding of grammar and improve your reading and listening skills, look no further. I can promise you a rigorous approach to lesson planning and teaching, all the while leaving leaving enough room for adapting specific topics, materials and exercises to your individual needs and interests. In addition, given my professional background in the media, I'm closely familiar with journalistic Spanish, so if being able to read and understand Spanish press is one of your goals, I'm the right person to help you achieve these goals.
