I have four years of experience with computer science. I'm a fluid teacher and more than willing to take my cues from the student and allow them to guide the pace and direction of our sessions. I plan on working closely with the student (and guardians where applicable) to determine what is needed from me and where I can best help.
My main role would be to collaborate with the student's academic endeavors; giving them a second opinion on issues with their code or providing one-on-one attention in areas where they struggle. I value individuality and try to cater to each person's way of thinking. I believe that making the subject suit the student - rather than the student suiting the subject - is key to educational success.
For those who don't come with their own goals for the session, I can provide practice problems to strengthen basic coding concepts that they can complete with my support as necessary or I can manufacture lessons to introduce ideas I feel would interest/help the student.
