I'm new to this so I plan the lesson around the students needs and learning style. I am quite visual so prefer lots of diagrams and analogies to illustrate my point. I tend to tailor the lessons to what you the student need to achieve. For secondary/A level/ University I can cover most science and engineering topics.
For companies I have set up training programs for GIS analysis, basic engineering and networking systems, as well as general talks about the work I do and assisting with consultancy knowledge.
My lessons tend to be informal with a student focus, with you asking lots of questions until you feel that you have a good grasp on each concept. Courses and lessons can be structured around certain objectives or just a top up and help drop in for students struggling with different concepts. I realise different students have different ways of learning and I aim to build around the best way to teach you.
I have a degree in Oceanography/Marine Biology and Applied Maths and a HND (2 year undergraduate) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I have worked as an Electronics engineer, positioning specialist and surveyor with GPS, a civil engineering oceanographer, and specialised in seabed mapping, gps and geophysics. Ad a secondary specialism I am highly skilled with GIS, making maps and analysing maps and vector data and am highly regarded in my company for this skill. I work alot with physics particularly acoustics. I am also very well read and have an A-level in English Literature and can tutor in critical analysis of writing, including pre 20th century text due to my love of history.
I have a side business building Electronic monitoring equipment for civil engineering and environmental conditions, and have a good environmental science background. In my spare time I surf, run, hike and play computer games, or read sci fi and comics.
