When I teach, I use a range of teaching styles to include visual, kinetic, and auditory processes. I use PowerPoint as well as online whiteboards to show , teach and work out examples together.
I often provide resources for you to use when practising at home and always offer homework which is organised out of your lesson time, should you want extra practice.
I have taught in both primary and secondary schools, full-time and supply through my career. I’m currently taking a break to complete a specialised MA in special educational needs which is why I am Tutoring.
I can cover the full scope of the primary national curriculum.
When teaching GCSE English, I provide lessons on both literature and language. I have knowledge and have had experience teaching content from all of the major examining boards within the UK. I have covered a wide range of texts and stay up-to-date with yearly guidance provided by the examining boards.
I provide an in-depth text guide, as well as focusing on context, the writers intention, language, structure, and, most importantly, how to respond to exam style questions.
For English language I teach you how to use the tools available to write higher level transactional pieces within the short time you’re given during an exam. In addition to comprehension practice, I always advise that you read as much as possible in the lead up to your GCSE exams. This will improve your grammar, sentence, structure, vocabulary, as well as giving you literary ideas.
My teaching is predominantly online due to my location, however, I can provide face-to-face sessions in Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Durham.
