I would usually use the same structure they are probably using at school so first grasp their knowledge on the subject then the next day I would recap what they took from the last lesson and then I would show them more and more of the subject until eventually they have completely realised what’s the subject in my case. Maths is about then I would slowly give them more and more challenging questions and I the end of my teaching. I would give a brief assessment on how much the student has learnt helping me and the parents get an idea, of how well the student has grasped the topic or subject And if it’s a matter of revision I will pick up from what they know. I would understand what they would know by asking them to answer a few questions, obviously on paper.
