It may sound boring...but active recall, blurting and a lot of applied practice is how I like to go about my lessons. Not only is this proven to be the most effective way of learning and retaining information, it can also be fun and rewarding as you will actually be making visible progress (though making your brain work for it)! I use questions from exam-board specific content and other sources to expose you to a wide range of practice material. The one thing I encourage most from students is asking questions and clarifying doubts as we go along and not being shy to do so. My students who I have mentored over the years (of different abilities) have all benefitted the most from being able to have a space to think out loud, make mistakes and learn from them to become letter learners. I want this experience of tutoring to be as interactive, engaging and enjoyable as possible! This way, not only will you strengthen your understanding in a particular area, it will also help me plan and tailor lessons so that we can work on those topics and concepts together so you can become a pro and master them!
