I have over two years teaching experience, my lessons are conversational and practical because I believe that this method allows my students to communicate effectively and confidently with others through real life situations and it motivates them to voice out their concerns of where they do not understand, so I always find it helpful for both me and the students.
I use a practice produce lessons that allow me to engage the student's interest in the English topics, to introduce them to target language (grammar, vocabulary or functions) while I give them controlled practice like gap fill tasks or multiple choice. They can later have a free practice that gives them the opportunity to practice the new language they have learned in a free, personalized way like role playing or speaking actively! This method motivates students to have a sense of independence as they are given a chance to practice the new language with little or no guidance.
I have been volunteering since 2018 as a Special Olympics Coach where I have been teaching people with intellectual disabilities life skills and coach them in Sports! In most cases some of them learn slowly and I have to use the "repeat mechanism" where I have to repeat one point over and over again and with patience to get us all in the same page, I am currently taking a online Special Education course to enhance and equip my skills in dealing with different situations while teaching. My classroom is always a peaceful and a safe space!
