In my experience the most important aspect in promoting learning and understanding is to understand the utility in learning the topic. Without an understanding of the benefit of learning a topic pupils/students have no motivation to learn. For this reason I ensure I explain the concept of each topic before even attempting to explain the mechanisms by which they function. I have found great success with this technique in all of my teachings of mathematics.

With enough notice I am able to develop lesson plans and tutor any struggling pupil on any Mathematics concept they might be struggling with at any level of educational attainment (GSCE, A-Level, National 4+5, SQA Higher and SQA Advanced Higher)

I also have a Masters Degree in Financial Economics which, while never taught in a school setting, I would consider myself very able to educate any pupils on any Economics/Business related material also
