Having spent time living in China and Taiwan, I like to include cultural elements of the language in my lessons, so that the learning is holistic and engaging. I find it is easier to really commit to learning a language if you are also learning about the culture and history of the language you're learning!
The skill I struggled with the most myself whilst learning was always speaking, and the tonal nature of Mandarin. I will do my best to assist all students to understand the importance of tones and apply this in their speaking, but in a way that feels accessible to them. Depending on the level of the student, I will encourage them to converse with me about simple topics or teach them the vocabulary to enable them to do so.
I am very down-to-earth as a teacher, and I hope to help many students learn to love Chinese as much as I do!
Please don't hesitate to get in contact to find out how I could help you get started on your Chinese journey! Thanks.
