I teach all levels, from complete beginners to professional competency. My teaching approach is to make the lesson relatable and relevant. First of all, I will get to know each student, their current level and specific goals. This helps me understand how to to structure the future lessons. I will then come up with a lesson plan and revise this plan periodically. Tailoring my plan to meet the specific aim of the student is of great importance to me and has proven successful in the past.

I focus a lot on practising conversation, correcting pronunciation and using/revising grammar. I want to make sure the student takes away at least a few new words every time, thus expanding their vocabulary knowledge. An interactive class and a diverse array of tasks makes for a successful lesson.

My students will learn something new each time and should leave the lesson feeling inspired and motivated for the next session. I integrate lots of real-life situations, current topics and culture-specific content. My goal is to help the student immerse themselves into the German culture and mentality, especially when it differs from their own background and experiences. German is a fascinating language and I want my students to understand the enormous cultural abundance the German language offers.

I would like to be seen as an approachable and dedicated teacher who gives each student detailed feedback about their progress. I have an open-door policy and strive to build a good relationship with each of my students. It gives me a sense of great satisfaction to see my students progress, pass an exam or simply feeling more confident in using the language in real life.
