I believe that each student has a preferred way of studying and I will try my best to accomodate that. At first, it is important to establish whether the student knows the content. If not, the time will be spent on going through the content, making sure that it is well understood by the student. However, if the student knows all of the theory for the specified topic, then the best way to ensure that it stays in the long term memory is to do practice questions and/or to use the 'blurting' technique (it relies on active recall). Another important aspect of helping the student is ensuring that they know the different techniques of consolidation and revising to be able to find their preferred way.
I currently don't have any professional experience at tutoring, however, I have been helping my siblings and friends with content for their GCSEs and A-levels.
