I strive to make my lessons both academically focused and fun! Learning can be so much fun! I love to include language games that improve student's vocabulary and reward students when they are focused and striving. It's important to keep the student's engaged within the subject whilst also improving their knowledge and competency. I have taught abroad in two different Mandarin speaking countries. Firstly, in 2019 I volunteered at an English teaching summer camp for three months. We aimed to improve the children's knowledge of English through fun activities such as arts and crafts and sports. I learnt a lot from this experience and began my journey into teaching. Wanting to improve my Mandarin skills, I decided to go abroad to Taiwan for one year from September 2021 to July 2022. Whilst in Taiwan I volunteered at a pre-school as the English Teacher. I learnt so many vital life skills such as communication, childcare and educational skills. Working with the students improved my Mandarin skill, of which I have been studying since my volunteering in Shanghai in 2019. I will continue to study Mandarin and am considering doing a masters in the language. I really look forward to tutoring as it is something I have a great passion for, thank you for your consideration and time taken reading my presentation.
