Hi, my name is Madeleine - I’m a fully qualified teacher, bilingual in French and English and fluent in Spanish.
I have taught for 8 years in the UK and also have experience teaching in Spain.
I will tailor my lessons to your needs, depending on your level and what your linguistic requirements are. My lessons are engaging and encourage lots of participation. Learning a language is firstly about having a go in an enjoyable environment.
Whether you are starting out and need basic conversational skills, getting into the nitty gritty of grammar or looking to improve your writing skills for an exam I can help in all of these areas.
As I am a fully trained teacher, the lessons can be as formal and structured or informal and organic as required.
Lessons should be fun and engaging. Although grammar is key, I try to incorporate grammatical understanding into the lesson so that it is a part rather than the whole.
Role play is an excellent way of introducing and practicing the use of new vocabulary and also a great way to encourage enthusiasm around the language. There’s nothing like a French restaurant role play to get excited about a trip to France and putting new linguistic skills to use!
I am punctual, organised and take pride in my work.
I enjoy French literature and read French novels in my spare time. I regularly go back to France to visit family and friends and keep abreast of French current affairs.
