I will look through your current work with you and discuss your ideas, where you see your work going. We can make mind maps and mood boards together to get a visual idea of what work you want to create - then discuss a plan of how to make it.
We will look through the module information your teacher will have provided together and I will help to explain what different terminology means and assist you in making a plan to meet all the assessment criteria.
I will help you find artists to study that will support your work and the themes you are interested in and I will help teach you how to write artist research in a more efficient way. This is important as many people know artists such as David Hockney or Picasso, however unless you are interested in the kind of work that they make, writing about those artists is unlikely to help you in your own practice.
I can offer tutorials/‘crits’, where I provide critiques and suggestions on your sketchbook that will help you develop more ideas going forward and will improve the quality of the work you create over time.
I am well versed in many mediums such as acrylic paint, oil paint, water colour, gouache, coloured pencils, charcoal, lino printing, intaglio printing, ink making, DSLR photography, textiles, embroidery, knitting, sewing, felting, casting, etc. This means I can advise you on both material and technique when looking at your work. If you have any concerns or issues with the medium you are using I will be able to offer advice on that.
