For my lessons I will focus on using active recall to consolidate content knowledge. For example by using quizzes, videos as well as getting a student to write out what they know of a subject so we can fill in any gaps. This will then be followed by exam question. It is vital that student are able to understand how to approach exam questions and understand what the examiners want from them so the second half of sessions will focus on applying the knowledge we just reviewed to do exam question. We will go through together the answers that the students put as well as what they could improve on and improvements in exam techniques. I have been tutoring for the MyTutor company for 3 months and have tutored GCSE biology students. Depending on the exam boards and specifications I will tailor the lessons around what students need to know for the exam and use exam question and practice papers specific to their exam boards. I love biology and hope to deliver my lessons with this passion to maybe allow my students to also start enjoying biology !
