Lessons will involve a range of interactive activities and content will be delivered using powerpoint slides, videos and fun games. I prefer to use a student-led approach and will let the student dictate the content and pace of lessons, tailoring every lesson to each individual students needs. I found that a combination of using a textbook and interactive formats helped me the most so will endeavour to use this. I will also set small projects to encouraged students to take their Spanish learning home with them and to help them use it in everyday life. Lessons will be challenging with a direct focus on nailing the basics and building from there, for example the importance of understanding grammar rules and tenses. I think as I have recently sat formal language examinations in both Spanish, French and Latin I understand the pressure students are under and can relate to them. I also know that my methods worked for me and allowed me to achieve very high grades in all 3 languages. I have tutored pre-GCSE and current GCSE students and think that focus on the basics, e.g. grammar, verbs and tenses is the key to success. I hope to make learning Spanish fun and memorable, and to leave all my students with a lasting love for the language, culture and history of Spain. A thirst for knowledge and the intent to keep pursuing Spanish even if recreationally through a love of Spanish films, tv series, songs, (audio) books or radio stations.
