I have recently graduated with a first class degree in English and Spanish, and I am about to start a masters in Translation. Over the summer, I completed a CELTA programme preparing me to teach English as a foreign language to adults but I also have experience teaching children. At university, I was part of the Peer Assisted Learning programme, in which I organised revision sessions to help other students with their Spanish studies. I spent a year in Madrid working at a primary school teaching English, Science and Art to children aged 8 to 12. Outside of school hours, I tutored English, both in person and online, to children between 6 and 16. Last year, during my final year of university, I worked for MyTutor, teaching Spanish online to students aged between 11 and 18. A couple of my students were studying for their IB exams and as I took the IB, I am in a good position to help those working towards these this qualification.

My lessons are always aimed towards what my students want to achieve, whether it be preparing for a specific exam or simply gaining confidence with additional support. I try to make my lessons fun, using different materials to keep the class dynamic while also focussing on my students points for improvement. We play games, have debates, read interesting, current articles and watch and listen to videos of language in colloquial use. For English Lit and Lang, we workshop creative writing techniques, create character profiles, and I help my students to appreciate what they may have thought as a boring text beforehand.
