Teaching and tutoring intermittently since 1993 in the UK and in Southeast Asia, I offer tuition online or in person. Tuition subjects are History of Art, Art History and History of Art and Archaeology, Religious Studies (world) and English as a Foreign Language (including IELTS preparation). Providing academic support means I am also able to offer structured advice on most aspects of studies. Working normally with adults and post-16s, I can tutor younger learners as required.
With a Master of Arts and a First Class Honours degree, I also have a professional TEFL Diploma.
Teaching methods are formal or informal yet are prepared and structured according to student requirements. Informative, entertaining and interesting lessons/classes/learning sessions are supplemented by ensuring that skills in reading, comprehension, writing, essay preparation, research and data extraction meet targets for that level and assist students to negotiate their study sessions more easily. Resources include texts, online information, exercises, activity sheets and PowerPoint presentations.
I am available to tutor online or by telephone (call and/or text) at any reasonable hour and for tutoring in person, arrangements are flexible as I can commute to the student's home or other selected location at any feasibly reached central location throughout the North West or in London. Travel arrangements are negotiable.
