Lydia Frater

I have a wealth of experience in helping students to feel confident in themsleves and their abilities by using a range of approaches to engage and challenge them.

My lessons are highly personalised, enaging, and rigourous but always start from a place of fun and creatvity. I encourage aspriational learners, no matter their original starting point and have an excellent track record of helping students who have previously struggled to engage with reading, writing and literature, to really enjoy it, and to see their own potential in this field.

I typically employ a wide range of approaches to determine which learning style best suits each student, and will tailor the lessons to their individual needs, rather than relying on pre-planned schemes of work. However, I have a huge bank of excellent resources which can be used to scaffold, support, stretch and challenge learners at all levels.

I am happy to take on learners who need extra support with reading, grammar and basic literacy. Equally, I can support students who wish to take their already proficient skills to the next level. For instance, top set GCSE or A level learners who are capable of accessing higher level material and practices.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and builidng fun and effective working relationships with my students.
