I have both a GCSE and A-Level in biology. I also have a biomedical science degree and am currently studying Veterinary Medicine, so have plenty of knowledge and experience in biology! I like to use powerpoint or google slide presentations with infographics and pictures to teach. I like to make things as interactive as possible so will include quizzes, videos, and diagrams. I keep my slides simple with minimal text as this is what I always personally preferred. I find creating flashcards very useful for allowing students to test themselves in their own time. I provide short breaks throughout a session to help you stay focussed. We can tailor each session to the areas you would like to focus on. I am open to feedback in how I can improve my teaching methods.
I have always revised with other students, which has helped me develop how I communicate scientific topics. Biology can be complex, so I use analogies and step-by-step breakdowns to make it more approachable. Connecting biology to real-world scenarios has always helped me to understand and remember certain topics and concepts better. I provide end of topic summaries to ensure we have covered everything necessary and allow you to ask any further questions.
Whether it’s molecular biology, ecology, genetics, or human anatomy, we can dive into any topic. I cover secondary to university-level biology, so we can adapt depending on your level and curriculum.
I am also able to offer advice on getting in to University, now that I've managed to do it myself twice!
