My lessons are concise and effective. For Mathematics I give a lot of questions and there is a lot of practice. I first affirm that the basic knowledge is there in order for the student to improve and progress. At the beginning I decipher where the student is at and how I can build fro there. I also include aspects of mental mathematics and learning times tables as this helps with future learning.
At the beginning of the lesson, depending on the ability of the student, I start with number sequences and move on to the core of what you are learning that day. I will show an example and teach you through it. I would then give suitable questions. After we go through the questions and any mistakes that are made. After that I would give harder questions if concept is grasped, if not, then I will continue to help and give more practice questions. I do not like to waste time during a lesson and want to use all the time we have to the fullest. I am looking to speed progress and to not hold anyone back.
I have worked in primary schools and a currently working as an academic tutor in a Primary school where I live. I teach Maths almost every day to children with a wide range of abilities. I teach SEND children as well as ESL children . I also teach high achieving students and lower ability students and aim to get the best out of all of them.
