I have some experience tutoring students at a GCSE level. As such there was a greater emphasis on working through past exam papers and creating worked examples, addressing gaps in the knowledge as they are discovered. I have also assisted students with the construction of answers and reports, utilising my experience in writing at a degree level to help them.

I aim to tailor my explanations to the student I am teaching and like a good rapport between myself and the student. As a long time student I've found that a more casual approach has worked with myself in the past, however I understand that some students will require a different dynamic to achieve their potential. During lessons I take an approach of guidance, aiming to let the student come to their own conclusion and stepping in where needed, I have found this approach to be most effective in my past experiences.

As for technical qualifications, I am a recently graduated Engineer, as such I hold a good and informed understanding of advanced mathematics. In the past I had used tutoring as a way to not lose touch with basic skills. As such I can offer a fresh and nuanced perspective on the subjects at hand. My lessons therefore take on a dual purpose, involving me teaching the student and also learning the needs of the student in order to better teach them as time goes on.

In conclusion, my main goals are to offer an evolving style of teaching, allowing pupils to grow and eventually become more self sufficient and active learners.
