My lessons are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of each student. The format and content depend on the learner's objectives. For example, GCSE preparation follows a well-defined curriculum, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. Engaging discussions about topics the student enjoys can make learning more relatable and fun, along with sharing interesting anecdotes and facts about French culture.

For younger children, incorporating games, drawing, and sensory activities makes learning more enjoyable and effective. My approach for adults varies greatly depending on their goals. If someone is learning French for tourism, we focus on conversational skills and vocabulary useful for travel. For business purposes, the lessons will include industry-specific terminology and formal language use. When preparing someone to live in France, I emphasize practical language skills, including slang and everyday conversation, as opposed to more formal business or academic language.

I’ve been tutoring French to individuals, adolescents, and adults in business, and I have experience teaching GCSE students who have given positive feedback. I’ve also taught young professionals, such as an opera singer preparing to move to Lyon and a young lady preparing for a casting in a French film and currently a businesswoman who loves the French language. Additionally, I have four years of experience teaching in primary school, with two years dedicated to teaching French to children.

This individualised approach is why I find it essential to understand the goals and interests of each learner to create a customized and effective learning experience.
