I structure my lessons around each student’s individual needs, starting with a quick recap to check understanding and build confidence. I plan lessons in advance, using a mix of clear explanations, guided examples, and interactive questions to keep sessions engaging and focused. If a student is preparing for an exam, I work through past paper questions regularly and focus on the areas where they can gain the most marks.
Before each lesson, I review the student’s recent work and progress so I can adapt the content to suit their learning style and current level. I regularly check for understanding throughout the session and give constructive feedback to help them improve. I set short-term goals that build towards their longer-term aims, whether that’s boosting a grade, gaining confidence, or deepening their subject knowledge.
I believe the key to encouraging learning is creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I aim to make my students feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress — and I track this progress through regular reviews, quizzes, and clear learning objectives tailored to each pupil.
